You have invested time in your relationship and believed it would be forever. When there are children involved the process becomes significantly more emotionally difficult and we help clients to understand that any outcome must serve the best interest of their children.

There are also sometimes when custody arrangements needs to be modified. Custody arrangements may be modified upon a showing of change of circumstances which reflects a real need for a change to ensure the child's best interests are continued. Some instances where courts have changed custody determinations are evidence of custodial parent's interference with the non-custodial parents relationship with children; interference with visitation, excessive discipline , acrimonious relationship between parents that communication between them is impossible and the child's preference where an older child is involved.

A divorce can surround many issues ranging from custody issues to the division of marital property. When you have decided that your course is divorce contact us to preserve your rights during this difficult time.

Nursing Home Neglect and Abuse

The decision to place your love one in a nursing home is an emotional one.  In making this decision you have entrusted the nursing home to provide a safe environment and quality care for your love one.  Unfortunately, often times nursing homes do not provide quality care and your loved one can become injured.  Some of the most common injuries that occur in the nursing home setting are:  development of bedsore sores/pressure ulcers, dehydration, malnutrition, broken hips and sexual abuse.

Nursing home residents have rights that are protected by state and federal statutes.  For instance, a resident who enters a nursing home or other facility without pressure sores does not develop pressure sores unless it is unavoidable based on the resident's clinical condition.

However, in our experience, bedsores/pressure sores can be prevented and are avoidable if the proper care is given.  If you or a loved one have developed bedsores/pressure sores while a patient in a nursing home, hospital or other facility, contact the Law Group for a free confidential consultation.
